Some experts will be here shortly to respond. I’m of no help as far as the guts go, but I do have a question.

What is that red and green blob sitting right in the center of the 6 knobs on the pc board?

I just noticed “sold as is” and “needs some work”.

I’d ask what kind of work it needs before making an offer.

Does it run ? Id offer about 250 bucks lower or keep walkin
    Personally , I think a PPIMV on a 2203/4 is unnecessary & doesn't any better

As long as it works I'd go for it, offer a hundred or two less, its gonna need at least a look over by a tech to make sure its all good for the long run. :yesway:

It looks worse than it is. Good point is that the transformers look original. There are a lot of mods on the board. I agree that a PPIMV on this amp is pointless. I would lift the board and replace everything to stock = a few capacitors. The fact that it has been messed with is a bargaining point. Good advice above. Offer a $100 or so less, put some half decent valves in it and you will soon straighten it up again. Go for it!

It's in good shape ,other than the hour's worth of mod sh*t to correct .....no big deal , BUT definitely a bargaining chip IMO . The cab, chassis ,front n back panels ,trannies are all intact . Can we say trannies ?

Although there has been mods.....considering the physical condition and original iron (as mentioned above) and with prices at $2500 or more for a similar amp makes you look close.

Needs that jack fixed. Definitely take that RTV off and redo those caps. Besides that it appears to be in good condition. Personally I would ditch the PCB for PTP. But that’s just me. Cut the bright cap off as well. With that said 1k is a good deal.
