Does anyone know if original logo was 9” or 11”? Ordered a Sourmash JMP headshell to put my combo chassis in and want to order a logo to original size. Thanks!

By 1980 they become the big
    fullblown Logos like on all
    the Jcm series Amps.

And late 1979 to 1981 Jmps
    have bigger rounded panel-cutout
    radiuses, or is it radies?

    Between 1976 and 1979
    they changed its size twice.

Yeah I have an ‘80 2204 that has 11” but I read somewhere that ‘78 used 9”. Maybe I’m on a wild goose chase. But if anyone has an original 1978 am interested

I’ve been wondering when the 1959 used/stop using a gold logo.

    Radii or radiuses

I am only going off of a faded memory,
But the MV’s had the 11” logo and some of the NMV’s had the 9” but not always, my 2104 from 1978 had the 11” but it also was a JMP. MV amp

And the head shell had the white piping at the horizontal location on the head, and they would have had the 11” logo

Mitch I’m thinking your memory is right on. I agree with that and am gonna go with the 11”. Marshall transitioning products is always a fun mystery to solve.

    @jessness

The heads mostly have the 9” logo 1975-1980/81

The cabs mostly had the 11” logo 1975 onwards, although I do have a few cabs with the 9” logo from that era, they weren’t the most consistent in that time frame

once the jcm800 series was introduced it’s was the 11” logos all the way

    Hope that helps

It does help thank you. Seems there are multi opinions. I may grab both sizes and just see what looks better.
What’s interesting is plugging the 4103 combo into my 1982B with g12h-100’s. The combo has the original McKenzie red frames which sound really bad compared to the 4x12 with celestions. Completely different amp into 1982b and sounds like a good 2203 should!

When I was finally able to score both of my cabs in the early 80’s I had a early 70’s B cab 9” logo, late 70’s A cab had 11” logo. Early 70’s also had the gold pinstripes on the corners, I know this because I had 2 full stacks of cabs, and I would stare at them quite often ha ha.
    Cheers

    9" logo for a '78 2203. I agree with pulsonicsound and I'm confident.

20210731_182743_resized.jpg I did the same for my 2104 and used the 11" logo. Right or wrong, it looks good to me...

Me too. Yours and mine look good for sure but maybe he just wants a headshell more period correct.
Mine is from 81 so a 11" logo is correct for it. Yours seems to be from 80 or 81 too.

Yeah I just want the period correct. The headshell will be new and the chassis is out of a 1978 combo. I bought an 11 but they’re cheap enough I’m just gonna snag the 9. I really appreciate all input though and the pics!
