I bought this amp sight unseen. Had a buddy call me randomly and said his father in law had an old Marshall tube head from the 70s, so I went for it. He dropped it off to me and I found it to be a 1973 Marshall Major in very good condition. There is a split in the bottom tolex, but could easily be repaired and isn’t visible when you are looking at it. Original Genalex tubes. I replaced the power chord because the original was disintegrated. How many of these were made? I’ve read 1200, but I’m not sure if it’s accurate. It’s so clean and original that I really don’t want to risk hurting it from using it, but it seems to work great, no hum. I’d prefer a super lead, but I’m just trying to figure out as much info as possible about this amp. Should I hold on to it for the collectibility purpose, or sell or trade? Any info on this would be much appreciated!
