1966A - are they supposed to be out of phase?

I decided to swap the G12T-75s in my 1966A for Greenbacks, and found they were out of phase. Was this intentional or a factory error? In either case, I "corrected" the phase.

Intentionally out of phase, of course not and you were right to correct the wiring and properly wire them. good job.

Definitely not. Always in phase, tip to positive speaker terminals.

Thanks. I did install the Greenbacks since they're the match for the Plexi sound of my Studio Vintage.

The cabinet now sounds much fuller. Before, I had the Weber MicroMASS (so low power only) at 2, now I have to set it at 1 lest I feel like I'm blowing up my apartment.

Am planning to pull the 75s out of my 1966a also. It's ok, not great. I have V-Type I'm planning to pair with a Greenback (which I still haven't purchased) I wonder if mine is currently out of phase....

Cool that you guys have this model cab. Guessing that they are the later cup handles, the earlier JCM800 models were comparable to the newer 2061C without the magical soundpost.

Solid cab, and a nice fit for the newer Marshall Studio Series amps!

My 1965a has a '87 Marshall 3203 head on it, which is the right match. My 1966a has Jet City JCA-22H on it. The 1965 and 1966 are a great size for lots of different 20 watt heads, Marshalls and more.
