So, it´s been almost 3 and half year since I moved to México, now I´m back home and with that I can get acquainted with some gear I left here.

I bought this epiphone to be my ¨7 string¨ guitar, because I´m not a 7 string guy, but I´d like to have one in my stash.

my plan is to black the entire guitar out. I already have a bridge and tuners, the Tailpiece I´ll have painted and the for the pickguard I see two ways:

    1) to draw and cut a mirror like pickguard, with a 70s look
    2) to wrap it with black vinyl and call it a day until I got tired of it

    Filthy as hell

I´d like to powder coat the tailpiece in black, but I´m too lazy to drive to the powder coat shop...

How did you get that v-shaped tailpiece off?

Could 7-string V's be somewhat rare? If so, I'd hold off doing any major alterations.

    If not, hack away...

It`s an Epiphone... although every mod I´m doing is reversible I really don´t care about the next owner.

Yeah, I was just thinking it may be worth a heck of a lot more money than we think. I mean, if it's something that is somewhat rare, I would reconsider altering it from original.

And I know it's "just" an Epiphone, but it could be quite collectible.

And again; if not, then by all means, chop away at it, lol.

eastwood stuff is great, but hard to get here in Brazil. The good thing is here I have a compressor, some spray guns... soon enough my tools are going to be here and I´ll be able to do some cool stuff. for now I´m living in a small apartment my parents owns near their house until my stuff is being shipped. I´m kind low on tools right now.

I´m into the idea of painting it with a nice can and it´s done. Generally for pickguards I´d draw the vector and laser cut it, but covid... it´s better to stay home right now.

And if by some reason I´d refinish it: WHITE.

Oh. I have the Gibson version and mine look like rivets. I bent the tailpiece when it got caught on my sleeve and need to take it off to straighten it.

    I've never owned a 7 string guitar.

I think I'd be the poor man's George Van Eps with one.

    Some day.

That's actually really sweet and I've never really had an interest in 7 strings. I've never seen a 7 string V and I think it's quite fitting, exotic on exotic!

Can't wait to see how this one turns out, keep it rock n roll.
