I've owned every Marshall made.
Here's a few old school.
There are people here giving opinions that don't know what they're talking about.
Anyone praising a DSL shows that.
The JVM has to be set up correctly for vintage type tone.
My SV is awesome.
Love the 10" speaker too.
JVM sounds better than any DSL.
I'd have an Origin with good OD over a DSL any day.
With Barber Direct Drive Compact the Origin came close to sounding like my Studio Vintage....
Barber Direct Drive Compact sounds like my SV cranked. Best OD I've heard.
Fender Professional Series are good enough for me.
I watch Youtube videos to learn.
I've been playing seriously for 20 years and just got to a level I like.
But its not enough.
I'd sell both and buy a Studio Classic or SV.
You people crack me up over hating the 10" speaker. It sounds great.
I also have the SV combo. The single 10" V-Type sounds great. A little darker, not quite as articulate, and not as loud as the 12". I just crank...
I love my Studio 1x12 cabinet. The stock V-Type sounds great.
Its plenty loud enough for a band.
Best amp Marshall has made in 40 years.
The Origin can sound very close to SV with a great OD pedal.
My choice is a Barber Direct Drive Compact.
Without OD its kinda like a DSL but better.
I think you will be fine.
Lots of people love the DSL too.
Never heard one I liked.
900 and DSL are NOT the best tone.
They are average.
They have a buzzy distortion.
Too many to remember.
But every model made.
