Yes, off the second gain stage. High gain amps use cascaded gain stages and bass needs to be managed along the way if you don’t want the tone to flub out.

The 22nF is there so plenty of bass is available for the clean channel. C3 and C6 tighten the bass for the crunch and lead channels.

Gotcha! Oh, and I didn’t mean to be a zealot about the DSL20 vs 40. Just different strokes. I plan on overhauling my 20 as well. The tone shift button and reverb and resonance controls are being re-purposed to facilitate a third gain mode.

Yes, the voltage and the 20 also happens to be cathode-biased. It’s entirely possible to overdrive power tubes without there being an issue with sag. They’re two separate things.
