Would you like to listen to a halfway decent recording of a 1971 Marshall modded by the legendary amp modder Jose Arredondo?, then you might want to check this out.
bought these from the son of the original owner who had these modded by Jose himself, they were new amps when he took them in. He used them in a band side by side in a stereo rig, identical mods.
Well, this was an interesting couple of days. I managed to get two All original Jose modded Marshalls.
Both are 1971 Super Leads. Both have been verified by Dave Friedman, and they are with him now as he gets them all serviced and ready for duty. Of course I will be making some videos of them...
Loved mine, one of bogner's best amps that will never be made again because of the quality of the components and the fact that they are completely handmade.
here is my vid:
the first two gain stages are encased in a pool of goop on a separate mini board he installs in the amp. Im sure there are some other tweaks involved as well.
Friedman Naked Mk2 vs. Bogner Modded Soldano SLO-100! Amps are panned hard l/r respectively. Thick and juicy with a walloping bottom end, sparking highs vicious biting chugs!
not sure what that is supposed to mean...I literally talk for about a minute max on most of my videos. Did something trigger you? Should I have spent 10 minutes talking like some of these other youtube videos?
Im not a "distortion pedal" guy, but this is a masterpiece. Amazing without any weird overtones. Sounds as big and tight as the MLC amps! Nice fat distortion grain. Pretty badass all around!
