I think so, the only others that get close are crossed OO getter Tesla's unfortunately they cost about the same as the Blackburns'.

I have a pair of the Celestion Cream Alnicos in my 5F8A tweed twin copy they sound great they also cost around $300 ea.
When I tried the 1k5 between the outer pairs of 5881s in my 5F8A tweed twin copy the amp would go into uncontrolled feedback at higher volume...
I find that a smaller bright cap like a 500pf sounds much better in that circuit than no bright cap.
I have a Ceriaclone JMP 1987 and JTM50, they are well built and they sound great.
I would also point out that the PT Heater wires are solid core with cloth insulation, the heater wires on my 1970 PT are like that also. My B+...
