Snow and Steel

My name is Joe [that is my ugly mug in the avatar there]. I've been playing over 20 years now, and play full time for a living. I live in South-west Ohio and have for the last 15 or so years. I play all styles really, though I prefer to play blues, classic rock and jazz. I often find myself playing all kinds of gigs though - last minute fill in gigs, backing band gigs, short regional series, plus I play in three different groups on a fairly regular basis. I tend to play 3-6 nights a week. I've played country, pop, rock, jazz, classic rock, metal [rarely], punk, radio hits/top 40, and more.

I generally use my amps as pedal platform amps, and get all my tones from pedals - I find it the most versatile way to be able to play all kinds of music [especially if its all in the same set].

I play Gibson Les Paul guitars, and generally prefer the portability of ease of transport of combos [I like to be able to get all my gear in or out of the venue in one trip; its faster, easier and I'm less likely to get mugged].

I'm also the author of a novel about the battle of Stalingrad, WWII.
