I only play dry amps and they sound the best that way to me.

anyone prefer marshall to the many offshoots ?

I like Victory Sheriff 44 chanel 1 sound, very old-school voiced, cuts through the mix almost like my Silver Jubilee :agreed:

Turning on head accidentally without speaker attached question

I did this a few times with my SJ head, even played a few chords, and when I realized there was no sound I turned the amp off, attached the speakers, turned it back on, and everything was fine. In your case, absolutely nothing could happen. It's important there is no any loud signal going...

Post YOUR Marshall Silver Jubilee TONES !

Thanks Anand! I run my Master and Lead volumes both around 6 and Input gain at 5 (pushed in). I like to add a bit more presence for a band situation (~7) to add some bite, and usually set bass at 8, middle at 7 and treble at 5. It sounds fat and rich and cuts through the mix like a knife. The...

Ordered a Marshall 2525C -What to Expect?

To my ears, with my 2555x (all JJ tubes) and 2536 cab, I like it the best with the following settings: P 6-7, B 8, M 7, T 5, OM 6.5, LM 5, IG 5. I am talking about the band context. It really depends on the tubes and speakers actually. But in general, the crucial thing is to set the Output...

Marshall Reissue authenticity: silver jubilee and jcm800

Why do you think it could be an issue?

Is it legal to use Tube Screamer with Silver Jubilee

For me, Jubilee is the best Marshall amp I've ever heard, and I play '70s and '80s hard rock and blues music. It sounds so fat, but at the same time it has that typical Marshall roar and the highs that bite you right in the face. The "problem" is that it has very sensitive controls that are...

Need help with my new Silver Jubilee Reissue!

I experimented with biasing my 2555x. Tried the sound in range from 66mV to 72mV. I liked it the most between 66-68 mV. The sound is more open and articulate, the harmonics are better, string to string separation is more pronounced, the mids are fat and rich, although the bass is a bit flabbier...

Yes, 70 is recommended, but the difference between 68 and 70 is negligible, at least for my ears.

I like the sound with the bias around 68 mV, but I could try above 70.

Ok, thanks, I got it. If I am not wrong, standard EL34 can produce 25W max. If we bias them at 70% of max. dissipation, they actually produce around 17 watts.
