    New addition to the family...

Picked up a BC Rich Warlock guitar and a Fender FM65 DSP, probably a throw away amp if anything ever goes wrong with it. Picked em both up locally in town for 450 bucks, Just curious if that's a decent deal or not. Guitar and amp seem to be mint, minus some cosmetic wear and tear and dust, the...

    Noobie Guitar Wiring Problem

Ok well just watched a video, to determine the ground and live on the jack input the lug touching the sleeve is the live and the lug touching the long extended piece of metal forget the name that rests against the tip of the guitar cable is the ground, simple enough. So i have it all wired...

So i was playing guitar, sound just quit a few days ago finally motivated enough bought a soldering gun and some solder and determined to figure out this problem. Can I use just one speaker in a two speaker amp?

guess i mis typed that, was practicing with the new 10 inch 4ohm speaker in the 30 watt amp so i had 4ohms stuck on my mind lol. but yes the mg102 with the two 12 inchers are 8 ohms each.. wired in parallel basically rendering them down to 4 ohm's total impedance. Well what sort of issue...

Can I use just one speaker in a two speaker amp?

The current speakers in the mg102.. are 12 inch.. 8 ohms i imagine 100 watts.. since the specs online say its a 100 watt but who knows if they are different.. but it is an old amp and it was over heating, since i had to change the fan just to get this amp to work for a few weeks. but like i...

@Jethro Rocker oh nice thanks for the clarification man, i was kinda thinking that. so i can get two replacement 12" 60 watters at 8 ohms for around 150. but I think ill stress test this 10 incher for now. hey what the hell its only money eh. thanks for the reply

Can I use just one speaker in a two speaker amp?

@Jethro Rocker Well it was quiet cause i kept it quiet, i didnt wanna crank it to max volume.. just used straight guitar into the front input jack, and strummed some shit.. and slowly turned the knobs up about half way and yea it was putting out some sound.. so i guess i worded that wrong.. I...

Can I use just one speaker in a two speaker amp?

if the mg102 is rated at 100 watts... do both my speakers need to be 100 watts or more, (ideally from what i read..?) or will two speakers wired in parallel double the amperage rating? so two 60 watters will be good? or do both speakers need to be 100 watts? 12 inch 8 ohms speakers are pretty...

Can I use just one speaker in a two speaker amp?

@marshallmellowed Doing what wrong, i have tried to explain everything the best I can. Unless its a power issue in my houses wall outlet wiring, I am not sure what could be going wrong. Considering the mg102cfx was bought used, I have no idea about the history, considering after purchasing...

Can I use just one speaker in a two speaker amp?

oh ok well i just connected the speaker to the 102.. and it makes sounds now plays.. fairly quiet... So i disconnected everything quickly.. Think i will the 10 inch back in the 30watt amp. and I think i will just order 2 new 12 inch 8ohm speakers for this 102. now that i know it works... But...

Can I use just one speaker in a two speaker amp?

Well i just checked my mg102.. and the 12 inch speakers are actually 8ohms.. So now im not to sure if can use that one 10 inch 4 ohm.. from what i read less ohms is more restriction and the amp will work hard to make it sound louder... hmm.. now i don't know sounds like a recipe to blow it lol...

Can I use just one speaker in a two speaker amp?

Think i blew both my 12 inch 100 watt 4ohm speakers in my mg102cfx.. Neither speaker has any continuity or ohm resistance/impedance when checked with a multimeter.. Than immediately blew the 10 inch 30 watt 4ohm speaker in my mg30cfx.. lol Sounds very quite and modulated/muddy but very...

Did I just kill both my amps? lol

Well i took the 10 inch 4ohm speaker out of the 30cfx, the one that still has a faint a bit of dirty sound, and it gets a bad .1 ohm reading ,but still has some continuity on the connectors. Ripped out both the 12 inch 8ohm speakers from the 102cfx, and neither one of them have any continuity...

Did I just kill both my amps? lol

@william vogel So how does one start or go abouts to fixing the low impedance? would these pictures posted above of the pin holes be causing a low impedance? or is it more so of an actual failed component like a resistor or the out put transistor from what i read on other forums hmm. I guess my...
