I got my first guitar when I was 15 in 1998. It's Jackson Kelly Performer. Still have it. It's amazing how if you take care of them they can almost get better with age.
As I've said it was surprising to me too.
My Marshall cabs were super shrill until I put about 10 hours of play time on them. They sound better the more you use them.
That is also the guy that said Kemper should be illegal since it "steals" an amp's sound. He of course said this while sitting in front of dozens of amps that were copied from each other.
Lightning was the JMP's with Tube screamers up front. The Jose was on Kill'em all and the Jose was the one that got stolen. Would be crazy if someone found it some day.
He has used everything at some point. The load era they used all kinds of random amps. The Wizard sound on Garage inc was unmistakable. The only slaving I have heard of was running the IIc+ into the 2203s and that was back in the 1980s.
I have always like the JMP-1. The rhythm tone on Megadeth's Cryptic Writings speaks for itself. I bought some JMP profiles for my Kemper and run them through my Marshall power amp into some 4x12 cabs and bam there it is. I would love to find a deal on a JMP-1 but they seem to be fairly hard to find.
