I love how they sound. If you lived near me I would probably buy it from you. Those and the TSL60s are my favorite amps.
I like Vintage 30 speakers.

Good luck! And post some clips when you can. [IMG]
I don't like leaving amps on while not playing them.
You could try some high gain preamp tubes. Something like JJ ECC83S, Tung-Sol 12AX7 or Sovtek 12AX7LPS. Other than that a distortion or overdrive...
You may just want to leave it as is. A new PCB may sound totally different.
If you can afford it you'll have a another good amp. Not only that but it may quench you gear acquisition syndrome.
Some say the 2205 is one of the best Marshalls ever made.
The DSL50 is on my wish list.
I think a DSL50 sounds better than a JCM800.
If I had one I'd put two JJ EL34 and four JJ ECC83S tubes in there.
I emailed Marshall one time and asked them what tubes to use and they recommended JJ EL34s or Svetlana EL34s.
I believe that is a good amp. I have a 1986 Marshall Lead 12 micro stack and I love it.
Don't fire it up just yet. It should be brought up slowly on a variac.
