    Some pics of "son of" DEFCON 1: The extension box converts my 8 ohm M2 into a 4 ohm version by simply plugging it in parallel with the main circuit. Big thanks to @JohnH as usual for the guidance and wisdom.

    Problem traced to user error! I'd plugged the speaker into the input socket instead of the output socket. I'm now getting 3.4 ohms, so all good to go. DOH!!!!!
