Has anyone dealt with Triode Electronics?

Thinking my OT may possibly be fried, I found one on ebay for dirt cheap. Usually, they are listed for about $100. But I found this one => Mag 100w Output Transformer for Marshall JCM800 JMP Amp - eBay (item 200380728640 end time Dec-03-09 22:05:24 PST)

for just $54.

Has anyone ordered from this company before?

I'm thinkin' it might be Chinese crap with a fake "made in USA" label on it.

But I don't know.

Feel free to chime in.

Re: Has anyone dealt with Triode Electronics?

They're made in the USA. They're a cheap alternative to more expensive transformers like Mercury Magnetics or Heyboer, Mojo, Weber.

They might be doing the same kind of thing that WGS has done in the past. Start out with dirt cheap prices and increase the prices as the word goes around the 'net.

I've never tried them but feedback from users is that they are good value for your money.

I've dealt with them on and off of EBAY. They are a large outfit. I have no problem doing business with them.

Those X-fers are from Magnetic Components they are made in the US in Chicago and I just used the 100 watt model in my JCM 800 build and it worked fine. Triode is good company, but you will have to wait for this tranny because they dont keep them in stock on the shelf. If you need it fast go to Amp Parts Direct on Ebay
