marshall mg100hdfx with no sound

just bought a used marshall mg100hdfx, almost right away is started cutting out and now will not put out any sound at all. power comes on but nothing comes out of my cabinet at all. I could really use some help I payed too much for it and don't want to spend a lot fixing it.

I'd check all the connections inside, something is probably loose, either a connector or a solder joint. Bad solder joints are very common with amps because they are moved around a lot. I've fixed many many amps by simply heating all the solder joints up.

My son has a Marshall atv20. After about 1 year - it lost the sound.

We plugged the headphones in, and sound came out of the headphones!
After plugging and unplugging the headphones a couple of times, we got sound coming out of the speaker again.

In our case, I think a contact in the headphone outlet my have misdirected the sound from the speaker.

So check your headphone outlet - unscrew it and plug in the headphones a few times. It will at least help diagnosis your situation.
