Unhappy 8100 .... Problems

I picked up a used 8100 for very cheap. It has been sitting in storage for who knows how long and it was obvious when I plugged it in.

Problems:
A. With the turn of most knobs, the signal cuts in and out...namely the volumes.
B. The volume knob only begins to "work" when it's at certain positions, and you have to fiddle/push/pull on it for it to work.
C. The reverb knob is pretty much stuck without using pliers.

I am hoping with all that is in me that the pots are just rusty/old/dry and that some lube and cleaning it will be better....or else it's gonna be a *costly* repair.

Words of wisdom?

The biggest issue I've found with these older Valvestates are either dirty pots or bad solder joints......clean pots and reflow solder and I think you may come back to life....the reverb pot may be toast, but cleaning/lube might work if done "over a period of time"...be patient.."don't force it"....

One of the best and easiest places to start is called PartsIsParts(just search and you will find their store)...they have all the Marshall amp parts lists online(you can download them)......they usually list the most frequently replaced parts, part#, desc, etc......they will ship individual items, which many places in the great USA just doesn't do anymore.....we're F&^$##'d. Sometimes Ebay is a good option also, but you need to know what you're getting and PartsIsParts is easier, and great to work with........or will be a source for the info you need to figure it all out.......
