Thats right, you know exactly what Im talking about.
140+$$ for a Foot Switch Pedal that straight-up Brakes every 6 months. I am on the move to fix this problem once and for all... I own a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 100 watt head, and you guessed it: The footswitch broke, just like everyone else's. Let us Rise together as fellow Marshall owners and work together to find a solution to what was priorly known as an un-cure-able issue. What was your problem? How did you fix the problem? Is there an aftermarket or Third Party company that can make one? Did you make one? How? Do you have any i no to help us in this time of need? Just take a look at these sad reviews: Buy Marshall 5-Button Footswitch for TSL Series Amps | Footswitches | Musician's Friend |

Re: Everyone Hates the Marshall TSL Footswitch - Please Help With Ideas and Fixes
2007 TSL100
2000 TSL122 2005 TSL602 2006 TSL602 All amps used regularly. No problems with any of the footswitches. I've read where some people have had problems, but after elaborating the issues, most of the problems are caused by abuse. I'm not saying this is the case here, but for the amount of footswitches out there, most are still working.

If you are REALLY serious, you could put together a 'group buy' and have someplace like CLIFF (American company) make a whole bunch of them for you. Check out this link: CLIFF USA - Electronic Components. Manufacturing jack plugs, sockets and optical components. Another option... I have a DSL 401 and my footswitch had failed me as well. I refused to spend the stupid $$ for a new Marshall pedal, so I tore mine apart and installed a 1/4" female jack on the pedal box. Now I can use any stereo 1/4" end cable I want. I realize what I did for my 401 is not an immediate solution for your TSL amplifier. However, you might be able to find the multi-pin connectors and create your own cable and install a female jack on the pedal box. I am sorry I do not have any easier or better solutions. Good luck. And if you do find the connector parts for the pedal, post your find and your effort for other folks to benefit from. Cheers----Puffer Fish |

Re: Everyone Hates the Marshall TSL Footswitch - Please Help With Ideas and Fixes
Hey Puffer...good to hear from you.
There was a prior thread that had some info regarding modifications to the TSL footswitch. As I recall, they installed a different style female connector into the footswitch itself. Then a cable plugged in to this. However, the input on the back of the amp had to be switched over for this new type of cable. So in this case, you had a female connector at each end with a male tip cable to connect them. I thought it was a lot of work, especially if you see how the OE input connector is set in the board with a retaining strap. Of course, some people have trouble with the switches. One guy said his quit working when a roadie pushed a loaded dolly over it. He made the comment, "It's Marshall, it should be built to take stuff like that." No, that only works with a Shure 58 being used as a hammer. Rolling a loaded dolly over a footswitch is going to break something for sure. One thing is true. Marshall used an odd connector and all you can do is use it. Otherwise, you have to do a major repair job.
