TSL-100: Crunch channel gain mod
I own a TSL-100 and use the Clean and Lead channel extensively, as opposed to the Crunch channel, which I hardly use.
The following link made me thinking: The Marshall Amp Forum: • View topic - Preamp Tube Functions Especially the following quoted note: Note ~ pushing the "crunch or lead 2" button in for either channel does not change the above signal paths... it just engages a bypass to a resistor, thus allowing more gain into the respective drive control knob. Since the signal follows almost the same path, would it be possible to change certain components on the Crunch channel to match the gain on the Lead channel? The final result I am looking for is two similar sounding channels, where I would use the Crunch as a dedicated rhythm channel and the Lead for solos. Thanks. |
