MG250DFX issues

OK, I have loved this amp as long as I've had it. However, I do have some nagging issues with it. A while back, the footswitch stopped working. Then shortly after, one of the speakers began to make a "windy" sound. The sound was loud enough that I had to unplug that particular speaker. Then later, the footswitch started working again and the windy sound became very intermittant.

I'm a carpenter, not an electrician or amp repair guy by any stretch of the word. Anyone know what the problem(s) might be?

Thanks

Re: MG250DFX issues

I have the same amp for band practice and it's great...
I had to replace the cable from the footswitch on mine. See if you move the cable around in the jack if it cuts out intermittenly. I also cleaned all the jacks with electronic cleaner. Just guessing but, if you switch the connection from the left speaker to the right and vice versa on the back of the amp, is it the same speaker making the noise and the other is still good? If it is, then it's probably the speaker. hope that gets you started.

Thanks. That certainly points me the right way.
