Another DSL 100 problem....need help

My DSL 100 crapped out yesterday...both channels are fizzing...i have output but not a lot and its breaks up pretty bad. swapped all 4 pre's with new JJ's and still the same...i know its something in the pre section because if i plug strait in to the effects return jack it works fine with only the guitars volume to control it. i have read a lot of issues with the 2000's but have not heard of this one.......any suggestions? ...Thanks in Advance

Hey There,

Try pluggin a patch cable from FX Send/Preamp Out to FX Return/PowerAmp In. Sometimes the jacks corrode and the signal doesn't get through. Quite a common fault in modern amps build to a budget.
If that doesn't fix the problem it is also possible that i.e. a coupling cap is faulty. Many possiblities, time for a tech then...

Cheers Michael

Try some "known to be good" preamp valves, sounds like one has crapped out on you.

Sorry, I'm completely retarded and missed that you had already done this.
Have you got picks of the amp guts. We may be able to help you from there?

Re: Another DSL 100 problem....need help

Sorry i am just getting back to this post
the head is now fixed thanks to Belch and Jon (Wilder Amplification)
turns out it was just one bad resistor
i must also say that i upgraded my output tranny to a MM and added their choke and wow what a huge difference....no marketing hype on these ...they a really are that good...and thanks to all on this board for the suggestions as they are what pointed me to dig "under the hood" and find my problem
