JTM610 cutting out
Hi all,
I've had this amp for years now with no problems at all. Now after about 20 mins once it's warmed up the sound cuts in and out on both channels. I've read a lot about these amps overheating but it doesn't feel especially hot and it still does it in a well ventilated room on low volume. I've cleaned all the jack inputs. There's no crackle from the master vol dial or anything obvious like that. Anyone? Cheers for any help Martin. |

If not then start by fitting and new set of pre and power valves, checked the bias and asjust accordingly. My guess is that this will solve your problem, if you have changed then recently then let us know.

Re: JTM610 cutting out
Sounds like you have a cracked solder joint somewhere on the vertical board inside your amp if the amp cuts out when it gets hot.
I had a JTM615 and while I never encountered the heat related issues affecting the sound cutting out, the amp did get very hot (you could barely touch the metal ends of the carry handle) I think you will need to take it to a tech to go over, possibly re-flow the solder connections and see what happens.
