had not played anything on avt 275 for about four years. always kept in climate controlled conditions. just bought a ltd viper-400. started playing and didnt noticed anything. after an hour or so started noticing a "cricket" sound. more pronounced on clean. no cricket unplugged and turned on. took guitar back to store and plugged into different amp, no noise. noise increases with volume.

Re: avt 275 "cricket noise?"
It sounds like it might be a bad or microphonic preamp tube. Try swapping your preamp tubes with a known good tube one at a time. If you don't have a spare, try switching them around to different positions.
