Jcm2000 tsl 122 footswitch problems

I purchased this amp on eBay about six months ago. The seller admitted that the footswitch was not working properly when he bought it new and apparently a newer model footswitch for the TSL models had just been released. He purchased that footswitch and said that it worked fine. I do not play in a band or record, but I tried out the footswitch for the first time last night. When I plugged it in, I lost all all volume in every channel although I had power to the amp. I shut it down, waited awhile for the amp to cool down and plugged in the switch again. It worked OK for about five minutes, but then when I was switching between the channels, it had a lengthy hesitation and was only running at about 25% power. I unplugged the switch, changed the channels manually on the front panel and things seemed to be better. Is it the footswithch, the amp or do they just not like each other?

Thank you,

Chris

Disregard my question...totally my fault. I guess I should have looked at the manual where it tells you quite clearly that both channel buttons need to be depressed in order for the footswitch to work properly. I mean it is like just below the introduction in bold font...I am an idiot. It works and sounds great now. It's kinda like when you put your child's toy together and when your done you have some extra pieces and say, "OH, I shoulda read the directions".

LOL, don't worry - at one gig I was checking all my leads trying to find out why I had no signal just before we were about to sound check

after looking at pretty much everything else I noticed that the output mute switch had been pressed in during setup - It was relieving and silly all at the same time!

Been there, done that. Sorta like the one cord that isn't in all the way on your pedal board. "Five minutes to show time." "Are you up and running?"
