Unused JMP 50w for 1 year

Hi all, I had not used my 1972 PTP JMP 50w for about 1 year and upon next usage, I got a hard to describe dry/crappy sounding output that I want to narrow down ( it sounds like some added noise riding on each note plucked). Does anybody have any sound archives of what a wonky capacitor sounds like and also what a wonky choke would sound like????

Investigation so far
==============
I took all the tubes to a test tech to check on tubetester and he says all are OK. I've heard things about drying capacitors .... and I also suspect (for some vague reason) that it may be the giant choke gone wonky. I had OT swapped years ago and I remember the tech going on and on about having to unwind / epoxy & rewind my choke so I suspect something could have dried out and shorted.
