JCM 900 Recording output buzz

Hello everyone,

I'm using a JCM 900 100W High Gain Dual Reverb and I'm attempting to record out from the Recording compensated output on the back of the amp. I get a buzz that makes my tracks unusable.

There is a mild buzz coming from the speakers, but it is not nearly as bad. My recorded tracks with a sm57 from a 4-12 cabinet sound fine.

I'm having the same problem with a Mesa Boogie F-50. The recording out jack creates a very loud buzz.

Am I using high quality cables. I've tried using George L guitar cables as well as balanced cables into my pre-amp.

Has anyone tried recording using these direct out jacks? I would guess that I should be able to get a clean signal.
