valve replacement on a tsl difficult or not??

Hi, I posted a link on 11/11/2007 about my mains fuse on my tsl continuously blowing but I never got any replies. I think it may be that the valves may need replacing but I may be wrong. I'm going to go ahead and do it anyway. Was going to buy the valves and do it myself, is it just as easy as taking the valves out and replacing them with the same types, and plugging back in again, or is it like most things, far more complicated than I could even comprehend and maybe a job for the professionals? Thanks. JP

Re: valve replacement on a tsl difficult or not??

The preamp tubes are a simple swap, but the power tubes should be re-biased after replacement... not rocket science at all, but not really a job for the complete novice either.

If blowing fuses is the problem try removing all tubes (with power off) then turning power on. If the fuse still blows, it's probably not the tubes.
