Techs, how hard would this be?
And I have a feeling the answer is, not very hard. Couple a 20 watt power supply with a 1959 SLP preamp. By comparison to a 100 watter, I know they won't sound the same, but just how different will they sound from eachother?

Power supply or Power Section?
In a power section, the differences will come down to type of tube used and B+. The difference will obviously be less headroom, and probably more forgiving than a 100 watt SLP. |

I think you'll need to say more about your plan. I believe if you simply put in a 20 watt transformer, you would kill your tubes. Do you mean replace transformer and tube type? Or just run the preamp into something else?

Not an original idea--- but not a bad one: http://mhuss.com/Plexi6V6/Plexi6V6c.gif
