DSL 100 Bias - No voltage on left pin
First question.. Other than the power being on and the standby on, does it matter where the front pots and switches are set?
I have my amp on, and I measure 87mv dc from the center (gnd) to the right pin. I have 0 mv on the left pin.. Tube(s) bad??? If so, what affect would it have on the output to confirm?? Thanks, John |

Re: DSL 100 Bias - No voltage on left pin
I am having the same issue with my DSL 50 I posted a similar question Saturday. No one has chimed in on it yet.. Are your tubes still heating up? Mine are, that is what I cannot figure out, why the tubes would be glowing but not putting out any voltage..good luck

Re: DSL 100 Bias - No voltage on left pin
I'm pretty sure it is the tube that is bad. The heater is on a different circuit and can still be heating yet the the grids are damaged. The guy that sold me the amp said that the HT fuse blew a few months ago... I'm pretty sure that is when the tube failed. I have new tubes coming in a day or so from Eurotube. I will let you know what I find. If it is a circuit issue, I will troubleshoot and determine was component failed (cap/resistor) and post. I know that the DSL have a bias drift problem that can cause the tube to fail due to severe drift. We'll see..

Re: DSL 100 Bias - No voltage on left pin
I just changed all of the tubes and the bias voltage is back. The old power tube(s) were bad. The amp sounds great. Thanks to Eurotube for great service. I put a picture in the gallery of the calibration of the bias..
