Can anyone possibly address this? At a gig recently my dsl100 went down. I was using a 8ohm hotplate attached to the 8ohm output of the amp into an 8ohm cab as usual. Normally I have had no problem with this. Suddenly the amp just stopped making sound. Tested the amp at my rehearsal space... 8ohm output does not work but the 16 ohm output works fine with a 16 ohm cab. Fuses look OK but havent tried switching them out yet... So what could be wrong here???? Obviously the individual 8ohm output is blown somehow but am I facing a transformer problem here?

Re: DSL 100 8ohm output not working help?
That is a bummer. The same thing happened to my dsl100. In the process of sliding the ohm selector switch the circuit board cracked and killed the two 4/8 ohm jacks.
It was a fairly cheap fix by my amp tech. If you can find an amp tech who works on the dsl series they will likely have a small list of problem areas on these amps that they can beef up to make them more durable. Simply a matter of beefing up some solder joints and making some Point to Point wiring in selected areas. I think I paid less than 100 dollars to get mine repaired and beefed up. Good luck |
