So I have a Marshall DSL 2000 2 channel head with a 1960 marshall cab. I bought her about 6 years ago and have loved it. I have been having a weird problem though, sometimes at random my amp will start sounding like static which gets louder until it pops and goes quite again. I have noticed that by unplugging my guitar from it and plugging it back in with a bit of force that the static sound will go away.
I always thought that it was my room because I picked up static a few other times on other amps but it has happened in completely different locations lately. I really have no idea what to do. Is this common? Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything I can do? Any help would be awesome guys, thanks. |

Re: Can my amp pick up radio stations?
I have picke dup radio stations with various Marshall heads. I am not sure if there is anything you can do about it, besides moving it to to a different spot. I don't think it does any harm . However Mine has never popped either.....
I would refrain from plugging it back in so hard you may cause a problem that way........

Re: Can my amp pick up radio stations?
Could be a grounding problem, check you cables and the input jack on your amp - it may need cleaning or a joint may need resoldering. same applies to the jack ion your guitar.
