JCM 200 DSL100 Head output problems? Help.

I have a JCM 2000 DSL100 head that produces sound but you have to get right up to the speaker with your ear to hear it. I can plug in to the effects return and get normal sound out of the amp bypassing the preamp. I have two identical half stacks and have checked cables, fuses, etc. back and forth to rule out any run of the mill problems to no avail. Any help would very much be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did you cheack the tube? power and preamp?

sounds like it may be time for a tube change..

Obviously something preamp related, I'd guess a bad preamp tube.

Easy and cheap to change yourself.
