Help! DSL 100 Effects Loop not working!

I own a dsl 100 purchsed new in 2000. Before now I have always ran my effects in front of the amp. I recently tried to route some pedals through the loop, and there is no signal! All connections have been properly made! Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.

Run a patch cable straight from the send to the return to check if it's the amp or an external effect/connection.
