Broken amp
Hey, first time poster here. I was wondering if you guys could help me with my amp problem. It's a Marshall 250 DFX and for a while the sound was going out, but I could wiggle the cable and bring it back for a little while before it would go out again. Now there is no sound at all. My best guess is that it's the input jack, but I really don't know.
Anyway, the shop I took it to wants $60 just to look at it, so I want to fix it myself. Are there any tutorials anywhere on how to do this? Is there a possibility that it's something other than the jack? What should I do? |

Re: Broken amp
Clean the input jacks. If that does not work then maybe the connection inside is not mixing with the jack properly. £60 is a rip off just to open up an amp and look at it and change some things. To do it yourself would cost no more than £15. If the jack does not work then change it which is easy enough, If that does not work that is when I would consider taking it to a guitar tech (Not the shop...They pretend to know what they talk about unless it is locally family owned then it is ok but if it is guitar centre then leave it). I would suggest changing the jack and if that does not work, Take it to a tech not a shop.
