Best A/B box for running two marshalls
Hey all, I finally found my tone,
I want to run 2 marshall heads together...mainly one for cleans and the other for the dirty....I would also entertain the thought of running them together for other tones too.... what would the best a/b pedal be for this setup? I want very low noise during the switch as I would need it to be as fluid as a channel switching head.... Any comments on your experiences would be appreciated thanks Ironlung40 |

Re: Best A/B box for running two marshalls
I use a Lehle A-B/Y with a Fender Twin Reverb and a Marshall SL-X, I switch between and combine the clean & dirt.

Re: Best A/B box for running two marshalls
thanks for all of the input guys....
I'll check prices on some of the models you have suggested and make a decision from there. I'll let you know if I stumble upon anything interesting |

I also used the Morley George Lynch model that you could switch 3 amps, use all at once or any of them anytime, really nice, small and it was quiet switching too. I lost that pedal, long story, but I want to get another one soon.

Re: Best A/B box for running two marshalls
I tell you what, I meant to say something about this earlier, but a poor man may have a ABY and not even know it. The white Boss tuner pedal will work. It's got the two outputs and one input and works like a charm. Although there is really not much else you can do as far as an A/B/Y goes but it works. Everybody should already have on of these tuners anyway.

Re: Best A/B box for running two marshalls
He means the TU2 tuner. Yes they work great for that. Buffered too.
Not tooting Radials horn but I tried alot of ABY boxes out in my mad scientist lab when I was looking for one and the best and cheapest of all of them IMO was the Radial Bigshot. It just did what it was supposed to do for me- it eliminated the ground loop hum problems I was having running 2 100watt heads and it gave me a great A,B and A+B box. Only thing some dont like about it is that its passive-meaning no lights to tell you where you are. And about that, honestly, the only gig I ever forgot where I was on the pedal and fucked things up was the one where I had too many Jager shots before the show...

Re: Best A/B box for running two marshalls
Hands down the best (is expensive) is the Radial Tonebone ABY. It is fantastic. I too run two Marshall amps together (30th anniversary x2) I have used every ABY box out there from Lehle to Boss to Custom Electronics - Hands down the best is the Radial Tonebone.
It has an array of options Check it out! |
