NPD! 30th Tube Screamer (Clip)

Just picked up a new 30th Anny Tube Screamer because it was just time for a new boost pedal, they're helluv a lot cheaper to swap around than amp heads when you get the urge to mess with your tone!

It's a killer pedal!! Kinda pricey but they do deliver - made in Japan, has the coveted chip the old ones have, blah blah. I like neutral, non coloring boosts also (have an OCD), but I was missing something that flavors in a specific/different way too. Got it now.

First thing I tried with it is a simple doubled rhythm. I set my amp for a medium crunch and then hit it with the TS set for a clean-ish boost.

TS 30th Clip / Download

How choice can they be for a $350 price tag? I have paid north of that on a pedal before, and have spent close on a dirt pedal more than a couple of times, but we're talking about the most prolific dirt box that has been improved upon by a dozen companies or modded by another dozen guys. Hell, I can get a 9 OR 808 and get you or how many other guys to build something that would smoke that thing for a fraction of the cost.

Whether playing OR collecting, there are sooooooooo many better options on the floor worth spending $350 on.

yep , i hear ya !!

Its a better version lets say than what they have offered in years past !
If you read the specs on it , they did spend some money on the inside ...
but yes , it's not worth 350$ + !!! at least not in my opinion ....

The good news is the OP got the TS9 Anniversary... a far-cheaper pedal than a 808HW.

Thanks man!! I'm after a nice balanced crunch, not too bright, not too dark. This new pedal with the right guitar/pickup and amp is definitely working for me.

I hear ya on the head....keeping my eyes peeled for the JCM-1!
