What an amp. Every single setting on this beast is just incredible.
I am now totally ready to sell my 2203.
Will make a bunch of audio and video clips of the amp.
It sounds as beautiful as it looks!
Worth every penny.

Re: Ngd: 2061x

Congrats anyway.

Re: Ngd: 2061x

I have one too, and love it as well.
It's so cool that it's so small but sounds like a big beast.
And when you link the channels you almost get a three band EQ as the first channels' tone control acts like a treble, the second channels' tone acts like a mid control and the second channels' volume as a bass dial.

Not the same juicy cleans as the 1974X though (have that one too), but channel linking works better and it's alot tighter for heavier things.

I really recommend getting hold of a Blackburn Mullard ECC83 for V1 though. Now, I have Mullards throughout, but V1 is the one that made the most improvement.
The same goes for the 1974X. A Mullard for V1 and the tremolo improved it vastly.

Welcome to the brotherhood of 2061x!

I've posted many demos on this forum.
Mine's got the Swank Motee cascade mod and a Master Volume but almost all of my demos are dimed and boosted with a Blackstar HT-Boost.
The best tonal improvement you can make without a soldering iron is to boost the front end - I swear by the Blackstar boost (300v true high tension all-valve boost).

I've blown two output transformers - the stock OT is weak.
Replaced it with a much beefier unit and now the amp growls and punches in the low end.

I've metered mine at 112dB through a 4x12.

yeah, I missed the low end that I had in Jub and think I will be going back to Jub.
OT in 1974 is known for blowing. Same thing with 2061?

Re: Ngd: 2061x

Pretty much. The OT in my 2061X hasn't blown since I bought it about five years ago or so, but the MT blew exactly on the day, one year after I bought it. Have worked fine since then.

I bought my 1974X used. Got it it really cheap with a blown OT. Bought a new one for $75, £45 or €55.

I'd consider it being worth it to blow a transformer once a year if that's what it takes to have this tone. Seriously.
