Best Single Coil Size Humbucker for Strat Bridge

Anyone got any thoughts on the best single coil sized humbucker for the bridge position in a Strat ?

I've tried a Hot Rails and now have a Lil'59 in there.

I'm looking for a lower gain, bright sound - pretty much like a single coil but with more b*lls.

DiMarzio.com|Pickup picker

But I'd recommend a DiMarzio virtual vintage heavy blues. Lovely pickup. (for overdrive)

i think it will depends also in your selection for neck pickup.
You need a balanced tone and level for all your pickup right???

the best i ever tried is dimarzio tonezone single coil for balls, now i'm using a tonezone T for my tele using 500k vol and 250k tone.

but for all round i prefer
- dimarzio air norton single for bridge
- dimarzio cruiser bridge for neck and middle (middle can also use fast track 1)
- 500k volume and tone, 22nF caps for tone, PIO prefered.

actually i'm a seymour duncan guys...but for single coil sized humbucker, i must admit that dimarzio has a lot of interesting option.

for real humbucker, i'll go with seymour or better, suhr SSH+, SSV...

I had a Lil 59 for Tele that I quite liked. I love the full size Pearly Gates humbuckers - one of my favourite pickups - so this might be worth a try:

Pickups for Strat® - Pearly Gates Single-Coil-Sized Humbucker for Strat® - Seymour Duncan/Basslines

Depends on what you are really looking for. If you want a stratier sound but higher output and slightly darker go for either the DiMarzio Chopper, or the Virtual Solo. If you want a full sized humbucker sound choose either the Tone Zone S, the Fast track 2 (highest output), or the air zone s. DiMarzio has the market about cornered when it comes to strat sized humbuckers. Although I like them for everything.

I know they are not humbuckers, but have you ever checked out the Lindy Fralin stuff. His stuff IS single coil with more bawlz.

Re: Best Single Coil Size Humbucker for Strat Bridge

even though i am a Duncan fan the singles i put in my model 6 were Dimarzio HS2 and 3's
and they work great....no noise and while the specs make it look like a high output they are far from it....yet they match the overly high output Duncan in the bridge volume balance wise pretty well
