Hi. I'm Dave. I'm the Golden Boy. I'm a Cancer that like sunsets, puppy dog kisses, long walks and short piers. Some of you may recognize my username from a few dozen forums over the past 20 some years... I've been playing for about (oh good God) 40 years now- not that you'd ever know it from hearing me play. I play a lot less now and mostly play bass these days- but pull the Marshall out when they need me. I settled on my '78 2204 almost 30 years ago- that was it. I've heard some people say "that amp is a one trick pony- but what a trick!" I also have an 81 Park- I'd guess it's one of the last "real" Parks made-
You know- the Marshall sounds so much better than the Park. The Park had been "worked on" before I got it- changed over to EL-34s, 2 holes drilled in the chassis- I assume an effects loop- and not the cleanest work done on the board. It sounded "OK," but not as sweet and open and effortless as the Marshall. Last year or so, I had Ben at Cream City Music do some work to it- it sounds SO much better now- It's outrageously cool, but still second string to the Marshall.
I like the cut of your jib, Dave!!!! Superb kit you have there. Welcome, welcome!! I am also a Cancerian! Reading our Astrolgical notes for this weekend: "Cancer: Bad News...You've got Crabs.........but don't worry, they've got Cancer!" Phew!! That's a relief!!
This is after all the Marshall forum, kick back, rock out, throw some clips together, Have a couple of cold ones. Enjoy this forum as intended. Cheers Mitch
