Everything I have wanted to order over the past 2 months has been back-ordered with a 2 month waitlist. Is there a gear buying surge on that I am not aware of? Maybe this is the universe telling me to get over my GAS?

Funny you say that, as that's usually my experience as well. They'll have a half dozen options of pretty much everything other than the guitar/amp I'm actually interested in. It's actually become a running joke w/myself

Oh, and yes, I take it as a sign that I should sleep on it for a while ... and by then I'm usually interested in another piece of gear that they don't have in stock

Sweetwater is my favorite store due to all of the money they've saved me!

Guitar related gear isn't selling well. Turntables, glow sticks, and laser lights are huge hit! Manufacturers are waiting for orders, prior to shipping. I wrote them off when they stopped sending Bit-O-Honey candy snacks with my orders. :mad2:

I was gonna comment on how killer the Mark V is but since its backordered Ill spare you the extra pain. LOL. All jokes aside I feel you on the disappointment. I agonize over new purchases for days and I won't even go the website to look at it until I've convinced myself that I can't live without it. Once I've lied to myself enough all I want to do is pull that trigger only to find it backordered. Its the same feeling I get when Justin Bieber comes on the radio.

It's bad enough that I discipline myself before finally pulling the trigger. In fact, I want to say that these items were "ready to ship" before I staged them in my shopping cart!

I've only managed to buy one guitar from them ... and didn't even get any candy. Still, I love the guitar!

    Logjam at the shipping ports.

With "everything" coming from China/Asia, ships can be anchored offshore at the Port of Los Angeles for months at a time waiting their turn to get unloaded.

Depending on queues and schedules, some often go through the Panama Canal and dock in the Gulf, Miami, or anywhere up the east coast, and ship by rail from there. Sounds crazy, but I've seen it.

Just another form of drop shipping, but for stuff that hasn't even been manufactured yet

Instead of keeping stock, they sell things they DON'T have, usually at lower markup, and use your money to place the order to factory for you... probably ordering the lowest priority and slowest delayed delivery to get further factory discounts

Factory benefits from having a bunch of future orders in the pipeline, and manufactures your stuff only when they have nothing "better" (more profitable) to do, just to fill downtime / pay salaries for people who'd otherwise be drawing pay for nothing

    I've never ordered from Sweetwater.

    No reason.

    I just never used them.

Not a bad deal, just ran into some roadblocks to slow me down this time. Only other delay I had on ordering was for a guitar case....which is still not available, but, SW has the best price on it so I will wait.
