Was happy with cab, thought it sounded way better then a typical 75 equipped 1960 until I got the new Jube cab. I then needed to close the gap...these speakers closed it considerably.

I almost tried Eminence, but after hours of listening I decided no.
Would love to try the Celestion Creambacks, but if I need more speaks, will probably just stick with Greenbacks. Bout all I could afford anyway.

Used the ET65 for a year in my dsl40 sounded good but it had a lot of highs compared to my newer creamback and more bass. Creams have a nice high end and tighter bass. I have to turn my treb and presence past 5 to bring it out more. The ET didnt record too good at bedroom levels there was this high end I didnt like. So I have it waiting for a cab to put it in. My EVH guitar sounded much better with creams alone.

ET65 is an excellent speaker and no question best bang for the buck.
    Have one paired with their (WGS ) Retro 30 in 2 x 1 x 12 cabs.
    Lovin' it.

Marshall branded V30s by Celestion. Amazing speakers, thicker, fuller, warmer, more complex then the standards 30s.

You have to break it in loudly. I jammed hard through it for 3 hours with a 100w amp. Then I plugged in a CD player through my Microstack head and cranked Metallica through if loudly for several hours. Made a diff. for sure. There was a buzzy high frequency sound at first, that is gone now. Plus the lows got tighter and deeper.

Strange, I found the highs about right, but then I like a bright sound. I wanted to pair them with V30s as they were pretty close sensitvity wise. The Creams, 65, and Greenbacks were less sensitive, thus not as efficent. I had a set of Greenbacks...10" versions, but didn't like them. The G10 Vintages I thought were was much better.

I’ve got a quad of them in an old, straight and large Carvin cab.

Love with an 800 would be an understatement.

    I'm gonna guess , no.
I think they are the 2nd darkest speak by WGS, I could be wrong.
ET-90 is their darkest I think.

For me they are not. Long ago I replaced the '80s vintage G12T75s in my 1936 cab (because I felt they were harsh in the high end). I replaced with a pair of WGS speakers including the ET65 and posted comparison clips here :
    http://www.marshallforum.com/threads/speaker-comparison-can-you-tell.30321/

I've been very happy with every WGS speaker I have tried, currently I have 2 cabs loaded with at least one ET65

    I've got ET-65 and Vet30 in X pattern 1960A.

Vet30 has a little bite, ET-65 calms it down. My impression with ET-65 in 1X12 is that it is the absolutely best well balanced speaker. Not too much grind, not too much mud. Vet30 sounds tiny bit flat, just tiny, not too sure, but I suspect Vin30 perfect match.

I had Reaper HP50 with Invader 2X12 I unloaded for profit in an import Cab. I hated the Reaper. The Invader, however, REALLY REALLY shined.

Retro really high on upper mids. Too high.

Looks like they've upgraded forum. (or downgrade?, not sure)

Had similar exp. with Retro 30, never tried the Invader , but wish I had.
Funny I didn't care much for the Green Beret even though
I'm a Greenback guy, so who knows.
