I've heard about wizard amps in some wolf hoffmann video... great sound, but I'm not going to spend 5k in any amp.

Metallica used Wizard Modern Classic on the Garage Inc album and the following tour. I still think that is the best tone they ever got.

For those that haven't heard of Neil Zaza, check this out, particularly his sweep picking arpeggios between 2:30 and 2:50. Very melodic player with great vibrato.

I owned both a MCI and MCII and yes they sound good, but at the end of the day they’re just another over priced boutique amp that could be replaced by any other. They didn’t work for me so I sent them down the road. I’m happier with my Friedman and vintage Marshall’s.

As this thread progresses it begins to remind me of the Klon and Dumble threads.

Gear is worth whatever one is willing to pay, and one man's Holy Grail is another man's sack of used cat litter.

Who's right and who's wrong? Everybody.

I'm just glad that we live in a time when there are more gear and instrument choices available to us than at any other time in history. It puts builders under pressure to excel.
