why to choose a 50 watt or a 100 watt of the same series?

Nothing comes close to the feel of a 100 water IMO. I like the extra headroom my 2203 provides. I run it nearly dimed but on the low input.

The original idea (of mine JCM800) was 100W. And I have a lot respect to that. Almost fear of mod to 50W to have spare pair of tubes. I'll tell you one thing for sure: Big balls of fire!

I went with 50w because I knew I would be using a 2x12, which gives me more choices and less cost in speakers plus a smaller form factor for moving around. Also save on retubes.

THat headroom is important when you use wah pedals etc. the sound does get noticilbly louder. I just hope Mlamstein doesn't buy up all the 50 watters!

Personally I own a 100 watter JVM but I can't say it is any better than the 50 watt version. It all comes to personal taste. When I was looking for a TSL I tried the 60w version and 100w version and to me the 100w was bigger and fuller! The 50w sounded almost forced if that makes sense? All in all I went with the JVM but if I had to choose between the two TSL's I would have bought the 100w!

I think for me it depends on the amp.

VM I like the 100 better.
DSL I like the 100 better.
Any plexi, jmp, or 800, I like the 2204 better.
