Personally, I would infinitely prefer whistling past the graveyards to having to stop and shed a tear.
Sadly, as time passes, I find myself stopping at more and more graveyards and shedding tears...
Sincerely hope Blackie is NOT one of them yet.
Somebody give him a nudge, please.

I remember the days when a crack salesman was just a guy who was really good at selling things.

    Hi Steve,
thank you for your comments. Some people would have seen my post and thought me a thug. Much the same as you described yourself, I'm just about one of the softest blokes you could possibly meet. This guy though was a proper arse (we've all met the them sometime) and if it hadn't been myself, I would have been someone else and very soon.
I hope you are feeling much better than you have in the past and are keeping on top of your condition. A truly debilitating and insidious illness that I must admit I didn't personally believe existed (only as an excuse) until it sneaked up on me as it does everyone who suffers. It took a very long time for me to accept the doctor's diagnosis and after many tough years (mainly for my family rather than myself) it's under control with large doses of Effexor. I certainly know when I've missed a dose.
    Stay well.
    Cheers,
    Si.

Thank you Si, you are a good bloke. Depression is the hardest thing for a man to come to terms to, we are conditioned from small boys to be strong and tough, it is not a badge of shame anymore, us blokes are not superhuman. Let me tell you something please, the husband of a good friend of mine served with the British forces in the first Iraq war in 91. There was a loudmouth who was full of himself and a quiet lad who would read a lot in the downtime, they joked about him being a bit soft. When the company went into Baghdad one of their lads got a bullet in the leg and was stuck. The loudmouth froze but the quiet lad crawled in over 100 yards under enemy fire and dragged their mate back to safety. Nobody ever called him a puff after that. Take care and best wishes Si, stick up for those who need it matey.

Spent 30 years in UK as a Taxman. But in fairness a lot of that time I worked in the overpayments and Tax refunds department :):)

I've been in trouble once in my life...but I had 4 felonies, 3 misdemeanors, among other charges, all at once. They wanted to lock me up for twelve years. All over some punks that broke into my car. That was a VERY expensive mistake on my part. Still breathing fresh air though...
