I was listening to the radio this morning while driving to the airport. "Fire" by the Ohio Players came on, and I thought to myself; There's not a single band today that can muster the groove and energy of this one song. If there is, please lead me there.

A dude I worked with turned me on to Ohio Players, Commodores and more back in like 75-76 and I’ve loved them ever since. I in turn turned him on to Ted Nugent. Not sure his brothas concurred.

I love 70s funk and it’s surprising how well it works on a Marshall.

Not really my cup of tea. I think the official video has 3B views though.

Dude... I just heard this yesterday. I was talking about crossovers with my cousin and I remembered you showed me a band (in a thread we were talking about bass distortion/fuzz), and explained what the bassist did with a crossover. I couldn't remember the band so I looked for that thread.

I'm not gay, but I was once approached by a shemale. I would have never know, had the bartender not informed me. My friend Dave zeroed-in, and proceeded to make-out and dance with her for the better part of the evening. Apparently, I forgot to inform him as to her true status... :)

    What is a crossover?

I also love when people state opinions as fact.

Audio or Frequency crossover. It's what is used for sub woofers. It divides the frequency spectrum to send a specific set of frequencies to a speaker or power amp. So for the sub woofer you just feed the sub's amp the low frequencies.

Doug had a very distinctive tone & it worked. I am not a big fan of overly distorted bass, especially when people use a bass fuzz. His sound was harmonically rich & full though. He also used a 12 string bass back then, but not always. The upper octave strings really added to it, when he used the 12.
