The term "vintage" does not accurately apply to anything, other than wine. The year it was bottled is the "vintage". Vine, hence vintage. Age does not make anything more desirable. Design, yes. Age, no. Take for example, a 2O13 Gibson LP Standard R8 vs a 1958 Gibson LP Standard. Why would any sane individual pay thousands of dollars more for a 1958 vs its 2O13 counterpart? Bragging rights? I played a stock 1958 LP Standard burst for roughly 1/2 hour. There is not much difference between the two. Any audible difference was due to the pickups, nut, and bridge... not the age of the instrument.
