Is East Dubuque still a wonderful place to visit, or have they ruined it?
No the strip is a shithole now. It used to be alot of fun with bands and strip clubs, but a bad element set in and they shut all that down. Just a few crappy dives now.
Damn, it was pretty awesome back in the '80s. They had some fabulous ladies back then.
I've actually got a cousin who teaches at one of the Dubuque schools.
My wife teaches in Monticello.
Ooh, the old arch nemesis. It's an amazingly small world. I was born in Manchester, graduated from Anamosa, went to college in Mt. Vernon and then moved to Mpls after college. My avatar Boo is from Farmersburg just a little southeast of Decorah.
Your exactly right. The GN is my favorite but the SS is more practical. Price wise it makes sense to go with the SS. That and I'm sure I would eventually want more then 300 hp.
Here's what I drive for work and the Chevy is my daily driver. Its no mall crawler, it sees it share of mud when I get the chance. Not sure why the Chevy looks so small in the pics, its got a 6 inch suspension lift and sits on 35 inch BF Goodrich's. Its perfect for a daily driver. Goes down the road nice and smooth and rides like a Cadillac.
That truck is too pretty to be running into snowbanks with it.
Thank you. I try and avoid any kind of snow and mud with the wrecker but the Chevy takes some abuse. Its no fun having a truck and not getting it dirty.
My wife grew up at 38th and Abbott.
My Chevy had the front plate wrapped around the bumper just like yours.
Oh nice. I actually grew up in the burbs of Chicago. I'm a transplant but I love Minnesota. I've been here almost 20 years now.
Me too. Moved up from IA in 88.
What year is the Chevy? I had a 2006 white work truck std. Cab long box with a 7.0L that was kind of fun.
Something about MN. I'm not sure what it is but its home now and I couldn't be happier.
I will never leave.
The Chevy is an 04 standard with a 5.3l V8. Its super plain jane. Crank windows and a rubber mat on the floor. It does have AC though which I had to have. Its an old City of Maplewood truck. It was in really good shape when I bought it. No rust and low miles. I prefer the regular cabs and they are so hard to find nowadays. I jacked it up and had a fresh coat of paint slapped on her and I just had it Line X'd on the box the other day. The more money I drop on it the more I don't think it will ever see road salt again. LOL. I already bought a winter truck. LOL.
