I prefer 2 16 ohm cabs for a grand total of 8ohms
Since your AVT cab is 8 ohm you will have to go with another 8 ohm cab. Personally, I would ditch the AVT cab and find a proper 1960 (1960B, 1960BV or 1960BX) 16 ohm cab.
Spend your hard earned cash on a good quality cab first. One good 1960 cab will slay two AVT cabs. Now, that's just my opinion but I bet 99% of Marshall tube amp users would agree.
I believe our job is done when an inquirer responds re: the watts-ohms details: he is well on the path to acquiring his first 1960A or 1960B.
We can hope he later finds that “perfect quad” in an original cab, but as you can see, everyday I’m working hard to make this difficult by taking as many off the market because 92 cabinets might not be as efficient as an even 100.
this is absolutely wonderful ,but did you know benny and the jets are back together?
now tell me what type of guitars are the jets playing? and do they use 60 marshal stacks a piece?
wait i already had a 1960 before it was stolen when i was very young
ok i think i got it
Treat yourself to at least FOUR cabs in its’ place. High road mode / high current mode. B+ positive
With electric boots, in Mohair suits!
You know something? I read that in a magazine..
hahahahahaha ,can't wait for tonight to see rocketman ,i hope it's as good as bohemian rhapsody
i am very happy to inform this thread that a proper 1960 cab has taken root ,as far as burning that chinasor dead with fire (the 4x12 avt) not so sure about that ,i could sell it or figure out how to run it in a stack with my 1960b vintage .
I need to build a headboard for my bed and thinking a 1959 head shell scaled up to queensize would be interesting. Certainly in keeping with the amp / cab / guitar interior design of the rest of the house. Also instant Kryptonite to women who think I should 'grow up'.
Get that newfangled 16-ohm-labelled nonsense outta here
You should be ashamed of yourself
thank you for your response . nice photo ,so those are green backs? old vintage valuable speakers?
i'm just barely learning about this stuff so could u please elaborate? and please check out my thread in the marshall amps section under proper way to use the mono/stereo switch for more photos of my cab that i got today ,but i'm suspicious of the way the parts don't all match?
Hey, he's from California. We have to make some allowances....
um yeah ,ok what's the difference between the speakers in your picture and the speaker in my picture ? and isn't my 1960b or 1960bv cab a step up from the 8 ohm chinosaur?
i want distortion and heavy metal ,are some speakers good for a certain type of music?
my 1960 cab ,a step up?
and who are those youtube videos?
