I am pretty set on getting a DSL100H that I'm supposed to pick up on Saturday for $500, but scrolling through marketplace I also see a TSL100 JCM2000 for sale near me that's the same price. Never heard of this head and wondering what y'all think of them compared to the DSL100. It'd be going in to a 4x12 1960 cab

By the way, if any of you have read my thread before, I used to have a DSL100H and I loved the way it sounded, but I've never heard or seen this other head so I'm curious how they compare

It's all pre-written responses. We did it so many times we just cut and paste.

TSL=Good clean, ok crunch and ok lead channel. It sounds good but a lot of the "features" are useless. The VPR sounds awful. The mid scoop sounds awful. They have known reliability issues. Mine had the ouput leads either cold soldered or broken at one point. I have one but hardly ever use it. Find myself using my Mojo 2204 clone and my Origin 20's with pedals more. Im sorry I have no experience with the DSL.

    I happen to own both a TSL100 and a DSL100H.
I'll tell you what: get the DSL100H.
The TSL is a beastly amp, but it comes with substantial risks. If you're not prepared to possibly need to tear into it and do some work, you should probably steer clear of that one. My DSL100H hasn't ever given me any problems, sounds great, didn't cost me a fortune and doesn't have bias runaway issues that, in turn, cause other problems...

That being said though, I really do like the TSL. The TSL and DSLs are like brothers, not quite exactly alike, but the family resemblance is obvious and undeniable. Each has their strengths.

I would pass on the tsl 100. Unless you're really wanting one, and prepared for the problems that *could* come with this model, and the jcm2000 dsl 100...jcm2000, not the newer dsl.

TSL best cleans in a marshall, overdrive not spectacular, and the depth pot is useless tuned to 50Hz... coupled of mods will make is resoectable.. but go for the DSL to avoid any hassle.

I happen to love the sound of my TSL. Less fizzy than a DSL. With an OD up front it just kills. But yes potential issues with reliability.

IMHO. The LM has better cleans than a TSL.
The TSL It's better than a JCM2000 DSL.
My advice is save money and bought the new DSL100.

I'm loving my TSL60, but the TSL100 has known bias issues that could end up being a PITA.

You can have it based off what I'm reading. I'm just going to get the DSL and stick to my plan. I know I like the DSL and they are reliable

    Thanks everyone
